Kurs i Samtidsdans for voksne - høst 2022/ Course in contemporary dance for Adults - fall 2022 

13 weeks course 6.9.-6.12.2022 kl. 20:00-21:30 DansiT studio, Strandveien 33, Trondheim 

ABOUT THE COURSE The course offers practice in contemporary dance through dance improvisation, technical exercises, floor work, movement phrases, composition tasks and working with choreography that will be presented as a performance at the end of the semester. Central in the course is to create body awareness and to discover your body language and movement vocabulary within the given task and material. The most important aspect is to enjoy dancing! Suitable for new beginners and people with movement experience. The course is taught in English by Anna Thu Schmidt.

Anna Thu Schmidt (Germany) is a Trondheim-based dance teacher and dance artist. She studied B.A. Dance in Education at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Arnhem (NL), traditional Indonesian dance at ISI Surakarta (Indonesia), completed the Simonson Method of Teacher Training course in New York City (US), a Hatha Yoga Teacher Training course in Jogjakarta (Indonesia), and holds an M.A. in Dance Studies (NTNU). Her interest in the relation between dance and other art forms led to international collaborations and research on the intertwinement of dance and installation art. Anna is part of the integrated dance company Danselaboratoriet, started up PRAXIS Trondheim and ImproDans Trondheim. Besides teaching contemporary dance and Yoga at Zenit Yoga in Trondheim she works on interdisciplinary performances. annathuschmidt.com
