Maryam Ziaei: Emotion and aging brain

In an increasing stressful world with pandemic and environmental crisis, better understanding of healthy emotional outcome should be a priority. Despite cognitive and memory issues in aging, emotional wellbeing remains stable or even enhance with age. Maryam Ziaeis research focuses on understanding cognitive and neural mechanisms that help us to better understand emotional processes in aging. Her research combines physiological, brain activation, and self-report measures to understand why some individuals are affected with an emotional situation more than others.
