WORKSHOP ON YOGA, BREATHING & BREATHWORK

That which you call yourself, is your breath. If you change your breath, you change yourself.

Breathing of all things has the greatest impact on your health. It owns the power to change the mode of your whole nervous system. It is capable of charging you with energy, alleviating fear and stress as well as shifting your perspective on things. Breath determines our lives, affects our moods - and forms a perfect cycle.

Time runs linearly, it seems, but yoga has always viewed the world as cyclic. In the core of the cyclic world view lies the concept of prana, the life current or life force. Breath can be understood as a gross expression of prana, the closest and easiest for us to understand. It reveals the cyclic patterns on all levels. As above, so below.

In this workshop we combine the methods of yoga and science-based breathwork practice. You will experience the methods of traditional kaula yoga that is deeply rooted in Ayurveda, the Indian science of life. You will understand the basic building blocks for a balancing, skillful yoga as well as breathwork practice, and start to appreciate the breath as a sophisticated, subtle tool for transforming life.

The workshop will help you to relax, sleep better, reduce inflammation as well as come back to your body.

FOR WHOM:
The workshop is suitable for all levels. Prior experience is not necessary. Especially I welcome anyone who is interested in getting more intimate with breathing and in using breathing tools for improving health.

ABOUT SANNI:
Sanni Parkkinen is an experienced yoga teacher (E-RYT 500) and breathwork coach coming from Finland. Living in Trondheim, Norway, she teaches yoga in which the human being is seen as whole, mind and body being like two sides of a coin. She’s coaching people to live happier & healthier with emphasis on physiology first – meaning that nervous system health is the key to solve many of the issues we tend to call mental. Sanni has lived and worked in various yoga ashrams and centers in India, USA and Canada.

PRACTICAL INFO:
Sanni will give a short talk about the theme and then guide you through a balancing Tri Dosha (yoga asana) sequence, breathwork session and some pranayama practices. The evening will be finished with a thorough relaxation.
